The Proposal

On October 28th, we decided to have a touristy day in Little Rock. We started the day walking along the river, on a quest to find THE Little Rock that the city was named for. The river area is also home to a very cool sculpture garden as well as the Peabody Hotel. Once I told Graham about the famous Peabody ducks, we decided to stop by the hotel and watch the duck parade. Which was just goofy & adorable enough to be perfect for us.

(No day out on the town for us is complete without one or two goofy pictures.)

We also stopped by the house that was used for the exterior of Designing Women, one of my all time favorite shows.

After we finished our sightseeing, we headed out to Kavannaugh for sushi with a friend of Graham's. They had been deployed together, and he and his girlfriend invited us out for dinner. We had a delicious sushi dinner and then decided to go see a movie. Being a Facebook fanatic, I insisted on seeing The Social Network. Graham isn't quite the Facebook addict that I am, but he went willingly. And of course the movie turned out to be amazing.

The movie was a late one, and ended after midnight. We headed home and the drive was just comfortable. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and was checking my email on his phone. He claims he knew he was going to ask me when he looked over and saw me like that and that's when I burst out with some pretty epic randomness. "OH MY GOD! Harris Teeter has 20 cans of cat food for $8.00!" (Harris Teeter sends out their eVic specials on Fridays and I get pretty excited about a good deal!)

He burst out laughing, and then I started laughing. Once we calmed down I looked over at him and my heart just about stopped. He gets this amazingly intense look sometimes when he's looking at me and I just knew. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt what he was about to ask. So I ask him "what?" and he gives me this incredibly shy, sweet smile and asks me to marry him.

Of course I said yes! I said it so quickly though, he wasn't sure that I realized he was actually asking me for real and not just a "will you marry me someday". So, he says "Okay. Well, we'll go get a ring tomorrow."

And we did. He had to work for a little bit, and I went to get my nails done so I could show off my bling and then we went shopping, where he bought me the most beautiful ring ever.
