Our Story

Heather and Graham were both born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. They met in the fall of 2000 at Harding University High School. Over the next two years they became friends, but nothing more. Heather graduated and went to UNC-Charlotte and received a Bachelors of Arts in History and Graham eventually joined the United States Air Force.

Almost eight years since Heather graduated and they drifted apart, they were reunited at their mutual friend Heather's (yes, another Heather...) graduation party in May 2009. Graham had just gotten into to town after his first deployment and came out to celebrate at Tutto Mondo with everyone. He walked in that bar and the attraction was overwhelming. For Heather, seeing him again was like being punched in the stomach. There was flirting, laughing, more flirting... but unfortunately Graham is a delinquent and got the group kicked out. He went back to Arkansas after his week in Charlotte, and seemingly that was that.

However, fate had other plans. On June 27, 2009 Heather went to the movies with Graham's best friend Randy. It slipped out that she had a crush on Graham in high school. They hadn't even left the parking lot before Randy was letting Graham know this little tidbit of information. The next day Graham sent a text, asking Heather out on a date for when he came back to Charlotte for another visit the following month.

Over the next month, they talked constantly. They stayed up all hours of the night texting and trading messsages on Facebook, and then their first date finally arrived. And it was everything both had hoped it would be. They  became an official couple on  August 4, 2009. The relationship was long distance and difficult. They faced some hard times and worked through them, coming out stronger.

Graham deployed for a second time in June 2010. The deployment was even more difficult, but when he returned home on October 25, she was there to meet his plane. They spent an amazing week together and by the end of the week were engaged.

Goofy is what we do best.

Yes, we really are this cool.

The most perfect day.

In January, the distance finally came to and end and Heather moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to begin their life together.

On April 23, 2011, with another deployment imminent, they were married in a private ceremony at the UNC-Charlotte Botanical Gardens. While the wedding was beautiful, they hate that they didn't get to celebrate with family and friends, so it's happening again on December 30, 2011.
